A portion of the motion picture "The Road" will be filmed at CLP later this month. Based on the Pulitzer prize-winning novel of the same name, the post-apocalyptic film stars Robert Duvall, Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron.

- Former Park Bowling Alley Collapses
The building across the midway from the remains of the Dreamland Ballroom collapsed over the weekend. The building originally opened as a bowling alley prior to housing a fun house and the Ultimate Trip in it's final years. The building had been closed following a partial roof collapse in 2006.

- Dreamland Ballroom destroyed by fire
The Dreamland Ballroom at Conneaut Lake Park is gone following an early morning fire at the park. Also destroyed in the fire were a section of midway buildings and important maintenance and storage areas. The park had no fire insurance coverage on the buildings. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

- Park board accepting lease proposals
The Conneaut Lake Park board of directors is accepting proposals from developers interested in leasing all or parts of the closed amusement park. Areas of the park available to lease include Hotel Conneaut, Beach Club and Dockside, Dreamland Ballroom, all the amusement rides, Camperland, midway and the marina. - Beach Club Open!
The Beach Club and Down Under bar at Conneaut Lake Park are now open for business. Hours of operation will be from 4 p.m. to close on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays. The rest of the park remains closed but the hotel may open later this year. The 17th annual Conneaut Lake Fall Pumpkinfest is scheduled to be held at the park October 12-14.

- Beach Club opening delayed
Citing "logistical problems" the CLP board of directors announced late Wednesday that Friday's anticipated opening of the Beach Club & Down Under bar will be delayed. No details were given regarding the problems but the board still hopes to have the facility open before the summer season ends.

- Beach Club to open this weekend!
Following months of of waiting, part of Conneaut Lake Park will finally be re-opening. Thanks to funds raised by 2 Conneaut Lake businessmen, the Beach Club and Down Under bar will be opening on Friday, July 27. The facility will be managed by American Resort Inc. After this weekend the Beach Club will be open 4 days a week, Thu-Sun. The new park board plans to have Hotel Conneaut open sometime in August & also hopes to have the Kiddieland rides ready in time for Pumpkinfest this fall.
