George Deshner, general manager, made the announcement at 2:30 p.m. Further details will be announced later today, he said.
Conneaut Lake Park, a 115-year-old amusement park, has been closed for the season because of lack of funds. However, enough funds have been raised to open the Beach Club to bring some revenue into the park. The rest of the park remains closed.

Great news!....but giving people 2 hours notice that it was opening? wow...

CONNEAUT LAKE – Conneaut Lake Park is back in business – sort of.
The park’s board of directors announced this morning that the Beach Club, a large restaurant-bar-entertainment complex along the lakeshore, would open for business at 4 p.m. today.
American Resort Management of Erie has been retained to help run the facility for the 15-member park board, which was appointed in late June to oversee the 115-year-old resort as it sits in public trust.
Park General Manager George Deshner said opening the Beach Club will allow park officials to start generating much-needed revenue.
The opening of the Beach Club was made possible by a private pledge campaign that raised more than $59,000 for the board to use in opening at least part of the park. The entire facility has been closed since May, when former park custodian H. LeRoy Stearns ordered it shut down because of a lack of funds and roughly $2.5 million in unpaid debts.
Conneaut Lake resident Greg Sutterlin, who organized the private pledge campaign, said he was excited that the board chose to use the money to open the Beach Club.
“It just shows a good faith effort on their part,” Sutterlin said, adding that he hopes the Hotel Conneaut will also be able to open later this year.
The Beach Club’s hours of operation will be from 4 p.m. to close on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays. |

| they should update their web page http://www.clpbeachclub.com/ I plan on going there in a cple wks. Its a good start to get the park going for next year. I was there walking around cple wks ago and I really hope they get some money to fix up the park. |

I was at the park yesterday and I saw a lot of classic cars parked in the hotel lawn.
