Hello everyone. I am doing research on the hotel and park. My grandparents used to bring me here when I was a kid and I would love to learn the history of the park. Does anyone know who I could talk to about this? Or where I can find newspaper articles from the beginning when they opened as Exposition Park? I want to go that far back. The internet has some stuff but I don't know how reliable the info is. If someone knows where I can go or who I can talk to I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

I think the truthaboutclp.com or something like that is pretty accurate, also a few books out there...

First off welcome to CLP Junction and its great you have such an interest in the park... Secondly I would try the Conneaut Lake Museum in downtown Conneaut Lake they have a great collection of old newspaper articles for view and I am sure the staff would be happy help. Also if you have any questions on the History feel free to send me a PM and I can try to answer any questions you have.

I think the one book is CLP, The first 100 years....I think it's out of print now, but I know the Erie Library has it, so I'm sure others will as well....a lot of pictures, and history....also, the CL Historical Society had a small brochure type paperback book, had a lot of local park info in there...

I had talked to the librarian at the Meadville library and she said to go to the Historical Society. I haven't had the chance to visit either the museum or talk to the historical society, I'm hoping to do both this week. But will the Historical Society allow me to go through their records? I'm not sure how that works. I'll have to hit the library as well this week to find that book. Thanks guys.

Ask for Audrey at the Meadville library, she knows a lot about the Park, and how to get the book on loan from Erie...

These books always go back to the beginning and have lots of pictures not lots of text to go with it but decent descriptions of each picture.
